WHAT IS YOUR FONDEST MEMORY OF THE OLYMPICS?

When I won my second gold medal in the same day on February 26th 2010 in the 5000m relay with my brother. Winning a gold medal with him was something really high in emotion for us and it’s a moment I could dream of because it’s almost impossible to achieve. Just going at the Olympics is something incredible. But going to them with my brother and then being able to win that gold medal in Vancouver on home soil with our family in the crowd, it always give me goosebumps.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU THE MOST AS AN ATHLETE

The love of the sport and the goal of being better every day.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT COMPETING?

In short track the best part is you can count on only one thing to win. You need to be fast, strong, smart, good technically. There is a lot of work to become the best of the best.

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST CHEERLEADER?

My whole family were always behind me and really cheerful in every situation but since we have our little Violette with us I just want to make her proud.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO REPRESENT TEAM CANADA?

It always been an honor for me to wear the maple leaf everywhere I’ve been. I’m proud to say I’m part of the best team in the world. One awesome thing is to hear our national anthem all around the world when we win a race.
